Who Should Apply

We will invite twelve rising Christian professionals, scholars, and artists to take part in our program of thoughtful lecture and discussion, spiritual formation, accountable community, and service in hospitality, all designed to help Fellows explore their calling in a reflective and intentional manner. No single personality type or set of experiences is a prerequisite for acceptance. Instead applicants are considered based upon their demonstrated Christian commitment, leadership potential, critical thinking and writing skills, willingness to serve others, and determination to make a difference in their career field. We are prayerfully building a diverse team of Fellows to benefit from, and to contribute to, the dynamic Academy community of Fellows, speakers, mentors, staff, and Alumni. This experience is a long-term investment in building a foundation for living your entire life before God.

A competitive applicant will consistently demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Academic excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in professional, community, academic, or ministry settings
  • A passionate sense of mission to meet observed needs within their envisioned career field or community
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity, a desire and ongoing commitment to learning
  • Acknowledged commitment and desire to contribute to a committed community
  • A commitment to following Christ in all areas of life
  • 2-5 years of professional or post-graduate academic experience. We accept applications from  candidates ages 21-27 and can grant fellowships to exceptional graduating college seniors.

We accept applicants from a range of orthodox Christian traditions and denominations and no formal or informal level of Christian education is a prerequisite for applying. We cannot aid international applicants in applying for a US visa, but if appropriate arrangements can be made by the candidate we will consider an application.

 Selection Process

The Academy seeks to build a diverse group of creative leaders who by background, experience, and calling can learn together and learn from one another. Upon receipt of your application our staff team prayerfully considers the above criteria and decides whether or not to offer an applicant an initial phone interview or a formal in-person interview. All final Fellowship candidates must conduct an in-person interview at Osprey Point. Following a formal Fellowship interview, candidates will be informed of their status within approximately two weeks. Following a Fellowship offer, Fellows will be given a designated timeline by which time they must accept or decline the offer.

Value of a Fellowship

The Academy raises over $30,000 to provide a full Fellowship to each accepted Fellow. This amount covers all tuition and program costs, as well as room and board for the nine-month program. Small stipends are available for Fellows who demonstrate sufficient financial need. Upon acceptance each Fellow must submit a $1,500 book and event fee which provides Fellows with their own set of curriculum books as well as admission to a series of special events the class attends. During the year Fellows must maintain their own health insurance as well as cover personal costs associated with travel, cars, cell phones, personal meals, and entertainment.
