On Thursday, the Academy community (Board, Staff, Friends, Host Families) joined with parents and friends to celebrate the Class of 2012. The graduation ceremony included worship and prayer, a stirring charge delivered by Executive Director Grady Powell, the commissioning of the Fellows as Academy Alumni by Board Chairman Bob Kramer, and the signing of the Class Covenant. Roger Valentine and the Osprey Point staff provided a scrumptious dinner of baked tilapia and cous cous for all 85 guests in attendance. Following dinner the Fellows performed a rap they had written earlier in the year for David & Sharon Covington as well as a skit on "how to explain the Academy to your sort-of one-time good friend who you haven't seen in a while," which they performed at Alumni Weekend back in March. The Fellows also entertained questions from guests, sharing intimate reflections on their experience at the Academy, from how they have been sanctified over the past nine months to how their understanding of themselves and their callings has changed and developed. The following day the Fellows all met in the chapel for one last hour together before departing their separate ways.
